Our annual Wine Tasting & Picnic Fundraiser for local scholarships held at Dierberg & Star Lane Winery was enjoyed by thirty members and guests. While we munched on light hors d’ oeuvres Shannon, Dierberg’s friendly representative, moved deftly among our group pouring and describing each of the six wines the winery selected. Following the tasting we enjoyed a box lunch, coffee, and cookies. Towards the conclusion of our picnic six bottles of the tasting wines were auctioned by our resident auctioneer, Al Walker, adding $265 to our net proceeds. All in all it was a fun and successful event resulting in almost $800 towards scholarships for next year’s recipients. The winery, recently celebrating their first anniversary, welcomed our group ensuring a pleasant event.
