The 2010 wine tasting and picnic was successful in netting $802.00 for our local scholarship fund. This year’s proceeds will be used towards funding recipients for 2011. Thanks to the 24 attendees who brought goodies to share during the tasting period and who participated in the auction which followed, netting an additional $360. The setting on Santa Rosa Road was ideal with a view overlooking the vineyards. The actual serving area located near the large storage tanks with an overhead roof afforded protection from both sun and wind. The weather was perfect, sunny and warm but not hot. Our Tasting Room host, John Bailey, proved to be a gracious host, pouring wine endlessly, while explaining the different wines available and donating 12 bottles for the auction. Al Walker was our auctioneer again this year and did a great job as usual!
